FULL MOON SOUND CEREMONY

with Awaken Spanda

a monthly event curated by Arlyn Ruddy
 Advance Pay: $40 | Door: $45
Sunday, August 10th
7:00pm-8:30pm

In an Awaken Spanda signature full moon sound ceremony the intent is as always to restore you to your optimal human
potential through the power of sympathetic resonance. Using organic sound tools such as instruments and the quantum power of
intent to ensure restored harmony withIN the body, mind, and soul. The experience will allow you to gently and effectively
explore new aspects of Self as we bring the unconscious parts of the whole energy body to the conscious mind enabling
us to determine our next steps in waking reality. We enter into this meditative state with no expectations in order to
connect directly to our inner wisdom. There are many layers of benefits to this meditation as we are working with the root body,
our bio energetic system. Restoration will occur down to a cellular level. This can also help clear emotional traumas and
relieve anxiety, depression, mental angst, physical pain, suffering, and such….while deepening relaxation, visualization, mental focus, equanimity, creativity, body+mind regeneration, recalibration, spiritual growth, self mastery, and above all self love and compassion.
The layers of healing are endless as we address and discover our energetic nature.
We are made of sound and light. And our integration is our birthright.

The Art of Balance

with Danielle

SINGLE DROP-IN: $40 | ALL FOUR: $140
Meets on Friday: 6:30pm-8:00pm

The Art of Balance workshops are designed to change your mind about balancing on your hands and forearms. Arm balances invite us to connect more deeply with our bodies by building trust, overcoming fear, and embracing playful challenges. They offer an exciting way to add strength and refinement to your practice. These instructional workshops will focus on alignment and technique by breaking down the mechanics of each pose. You will learn step by step ways to enter each pose, creative transitions and modifications, and how to use props to help make arm balances more accessible in your practice.

Arm balances are progressive in nature, with one pose often being the foundation for another. Balance is not something you find, it’s something you create 🤍 Arm balance experience is not required to attend this series. It is welcome to beginners and experienced yogis who are thirsty for knowledge and the opportunity to challenge themselves.

Friday, May 23rd 6:30pm-8:00pm
Flying Crow & Eka Pada Koundinyasana 1

Crows fly & so can you. We will build on our core strength & hip mobility to help navigate moving the legs into these postures. You’ll learn to rebalance yourself on one arm as you engage your lower abdominals to lift one leg into Flying Crow. You’ll also learn how to draw on your inner thigh strength & core to extend your legs in different directions from Side Crow into Eka Pada Koundinyasana 1. Learning to fly is so much fun!

Friday, June 20th 6:30pm-8:30pm
Mayurasana & Pincha Mayurasana

Forearm balances are very challenging, but if you can shift your mind in the approach, you can shift your weight onto your forearms. Learn to strengthen and activate the back and shoulder muscles to help you find lightness on your wrists and forearms. Experiment with blocks to help access these poses, while refining alignment and building strength in the shoulder girdle. You will also learn about the importance of maintaining stability in the pelvis and using the core, glutes and hamstrings to float the legs.

Friday, July 18th 6:30pm-8:30pm
Flying Pigeon & Grasshopper

It’s all about the hips and the twists in these poses. We will continue to build on core strength & hip mobility to help navigate moving the legs into these postures. You will tap into the deep abdominal muscles to help understand their importance in lifting the back leg in Flying Pigeon and how to create a “lock” with your foot to maintain stability. You’ll move through hip openers and twists to increase spinal mobility, while also utilizing the breath allowing for deeper twists through the thoracic spine to help access the rotation to move into Grasshopper. Learn strength building techniques for the shoulders and arm muscles to help increase stability and balance in these poses, and how to incorporate blocks to provide more structure in alignment.

Friday, August 22nd 6:30pm-8:30pm
FireFly (Tittibhasana)

Firefly Pose (Tittibhasana) is as much about hip flexibility and rotation as it is about upper body strength. In this session, we’ll revisit and build on the core and hip mobility techniques introduced in earlier workshops to help us begin to access this shape. We’ll also continue layering in strength building techniques for the shoulders and arms to support stability and balance. The use of blocks will play a key role in creating accessibility and developing confidence in this pose. Since Firefly shares several elements with Crow, we’ll draw on that foundation as we level up our arm balance game.

Awaken with Somatic Breath Work

led by Annie Schneider

6:30pm-8:00pm

eb: $35 | 3 days prior to event: $40

In this 90 minute workshop, we will be re-connecting to, and re-membering our mind, body
& soul through the transformative practice of Somatic breathwork. In the first 30-min of
our experience, we will be diving into the history of the breath, what somatic breathwork
is, and why/how it works as such a powerful integration healing modality. We will
discuss the technique, structure, and what to expect in your 1-hour journey. After the
first 30-min of the workshop, we will then head into the journey itself, which will be a
guided, inward, and 1-hour long breathwork experience followed by a short & sweet
heart coherence meditation to finish. We will end with a q+a session, and open the floor
for discussion!

Sunrise Kundalini Yoga
with Megan Leger
August 16 | 6:30–8:00 am | James Island Yoga

Awaken with the sun and rise into your highest energy.

Join us for a deeply activating Sunrise Kundalini Yoga practice designed to awaken the body, expand your awareness, and align you with the rhythm of the natural world. This 90-minute class will include breathwork (pranayama), dynamic movement (kriya), mantra, meditation, and a restorative sound healing integration — all set to uplift your spirit and energize your day.

Kundalini yoga is known as the yoga of awareness — a powerful practice that stimulates the nervous system, balances the glandular system, and brings harmony to the mind, body, and soul. Practicing during the early morning hours amplifies its benefits, connecting you to the quiet stillness of the earth and the first light of a new beginning.

Come as you are, and leave feeling grounded, radiant, and ready to move through your day with clarity and purpose.

End-of-Summer Sound Bath & Acupuncture Journey

As summer begins to fade and the golden days of August invite us to slow down, join us for an immersive evening of deep relaxation and renewal. This unique experience combines the restorative power of acupuncture with the soothing vibrations of a live sound bath, designed to harmonize your body, mind, and spirit.

Unlike last month’s session, this journey will honor the seasonal shift from the fire of summer to the grounding energy of late summer. Our acupuncture points will be chosen to support digestive harmony, emotional balance, and a smooth transition into the calmer rhythms of fall.

While you rest in this blissful state, the air will be filled with the gentle hum of crystal singing bowls, chimes, and other meditative instruments that evoke the elements of water and earth—like the feeling of warm sun on your skin and a soft tide rolling in. You’ll leave feeling centered, refreshed, and ready to soak in the final golden moments of summer.

Spaces are limited for this intimate, seasonal experience. Reserve your spot and gift yourself an evening of stillness, sound, and soulful transition.

✨ Space is limited — reserve your spot early to receive the Early Bird rate!

Supporting the Charleston Out of Darkness Walk for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and their mission to increase research, education, advocacy, and support of those impacted by suicide.

About the Tea Ceremony:
A tea ceremony is a contemplative ritual where we work with one plant in tea form, drinking it through guided meditation to enter into deeper states of receptivity where “downloads” or messages from the plant spirit come through. It’s like the tea becomes your vehicle (like the mat does for your movement) for communion with plant consciousness.

About Nora Luce (she/her)
A folk herbalist + founder of Critical Ritual. Nora offers seasonal remedies and plant wisdom at the Charleston farmers market and beyond. With deep roots in folk herbalism and medical botany, Nora is passionate about reawakening a culture of plant knowledge and medicine people in the Lowcountry with ceremony and connection. “I believe we all carry the wisdom to work with plants—this is about remembering.”

About Emily Bristol (she/her)
Emily is a student and teacher in the Charleston Yoga community and a licensed social worker. She believes in yoga as a practice of feeling and being. Both through the individual practice to strengthen the mind-body connection and by stepping into the community, yoga has been transformative for her, and she hopes to continue to create space for that experience for others.
